Ya know Aunt Debb,
I was investigating yesterday at the market. When i saw how low the calories were on Organic cane sugar, I became suspicious ... Thank goodness - I almost was going to consider reduced fat half & half !!
So i am enjoying a cup of coffee with one less teaspoon of sugar currently- and skipping the PureVia ! I do use almost 3 oz of half&half per mug, with the coffee it totals 16 oz total . So you burst my bubble on killing hidden calories, but my coffee is great again!! And caffeine isn't expanding my waste line , why would someone from 'the caffeine generation' give it up ? I normally have Aleve in my system so caffeine helps it along. I did think of decaf for my evening drinking, but I don't have issues going to sleep , just staying asleep.
Hannaford has PureVia and StevVia - both derived from the Stevia plant. They are above the 5 lb bags of sugar. Coke and Pepsi are both launching soda's using this new sweetener before summer.
Yeah, I haven't been down on the ice so much since I was stopping pucks years ago. I was telling Mom that my knees are in such bad shape - my mind must have made an unconscious decision to just go down and not try to 'catch' myself from falling and completely blow out a knee. I was in a good position each time I went down- so I was prepared , but it doesn't help my lingering back and neck issues. But I can still walk for now anyway ...
Thanks for saying hello and freeing up my coffee drinking !!

Hey John,
Don't mean to be the calorie police but thought you should know before you gave up something you enjoy so much for an error in addition.
I tend to drink mine black or with a pinch of sugar because I'm not quite sweet enough. I've found a few brands of decaf that are quite flavorful and I really need to avoid the caffeine.
All I can say about the falls is Ouch!!!
So I've been following this little coffee issue... and adding to my mom's comment - you should try New England brand coffee, Hazelnut decaf. Every time I'm over at my parents' for dinner I'll have a cup, and it's delicious! I drink my coffee black... no cream, no sugar. I kicked the whole caffeine habit for New Year's (and have actually been good about it!)... so I'm not completely against the decaf my mom drinks. Just something to look into, I'm sure New England sells regular coffee as well! Good luck with it!
What else is new... let's see. I was on Spring break all last week, the vacation from school was pretty nice, along with the beautiful weather. I can only hope that it stays and we don't have a winter blizzard halfway through the week. We'll have to see, although there's that familiar smell in the air that says, "Spring is finally here!"
At the moment I'm sitting in my History of Photography lecture, starting to learn about Alfred Steiglitz and his elements of selection. I should get back to that, huh?
What else is new with everyone lately?
Well, I really like "MACHRISTAY" - Capital Blend Decaf - put out by Chris' coffee service. It's served at Glen Sanders Mansion, amongst other places I'm sure. The waitress actually gave me a couple of bags when were in for brunch recently ... I think it was their way of saying "Here take this home and drink it there so we can free up a table to serve others". Anyway it's really good decaf - I just don't drink enough to warrant a 'coffee service'. If I could find it in a store it would be my first choice, followed by New England Hazelnut.
John, just so you know I think the calories are all in the half&half.
Ashley, get back to class.
Love ya :)
