10 days and summers over ...

Yes -

That's correct , in ten days when the track opens - the summer is over for me. I still can't believe its mid- July anyway . Nevertheless , when the track opens 45 days blurr into one ...

I have gotten into a routine of going to work by 7am or golfing on the weekends by 7am. I attend the races almost everyday. I don't miss any by choice. The races end around 6pm. I will handicap the races for the next day for about 2 hours, then pass out and do it again - for 45 days ... Now I also have a website for handicapping , it doesn't change anything except for more time to input the information to the site. I'm just starting to feel the passion and fun involved with my hobby. By moving to a new apartment , it gave me a mental break I normally won't take from racing.

I didn't play golf yesterday even though it was a glorious day. There was a tournament on our course so we couldn't play early like usual. By 3pm when Chuck called to go play, Jackson and I were playing softball in our new expansive back yard with 6 other guys from 'the campus'... I never have been able to roll out of bed and take BP (batting practice) lol ... But reality hit hard today when I did laundry for the first time - at a laundry mat. Thank goodness I have enough clothes to do laundry once a month if needed. I'll just have to do early mornings and hope i have the place to myself ...

So in 10 days , summer blurrs out and next thing I know its September. It can be extremely fun or tortureous depending where the horses run ... Opening Day is better that Christmas - I already have had the day off since January !!
